about

our college

Elaine Donohue qualified 34 years ago with the renowned Loriam Institute as an Aesthetician with CIDESCO, CIBTAC, ITEC and BAE. She went on to train and work in advanced Aesthetics and feels that education should never be finished.

Elaine studied further with many colleges over the years including Training as a Teacher and Assessor with the renowned Bronwyn Conroy College.

Prior to returning to Ireland Elaine had worked in San Francisco and New York gaining experience in Business and embarked on her new career with enthusiasm and new knowledge gained abroad.

Elaine passionately believes that to become a competent Aesthetician the key is education. Every year one should study at least one new course.

She believes that it should be recognised as a degree course and will be actively encouraging this with the educational bodies.

It is an industry that is continually changing with new technology and cosmeceutical products and it is important to keep educating yourself and upskilling to provide the best advice and treatments for clients.

Elaine has continually studied and educated herself throughout the past 34 years and stays abreast of all new technology and scientific break throughs in anti-ageing. She has trained and worked with many of the top cosmeceutical companies like Sothys, Artdeco, Clarins, Rene Guinot, Dermalogica, Image, Juliette Armand, OPI, Jessica, Lycon, Sterex and more.

Elaine’s Beauty Care was opened in Mount Merrion 28 years ago and she has grown her business into Advanced Aesthetics and believes that her knowledge from working directly in the industry will greatly influence the Advanced Aesthetic courses that she offers in her college.

She understands the industry and has lived through many challenging times including the financial crash of 2008 and has survived. This knowledge she feels is invaluable to pass onto to her individual students.

Elaine recognises that there is a gap in the market whereby the Industry is growing and changing so fast with new technologies and advanced cosmeceutical products and that it is no longer accepted by Insurance companies to train with a company when investing in new products or machinery.

The Insurance companies and regulatory authorities will require recognised qualifications on the QQI National Framework before you can be insured or work in the industry.

Elaine welcomes this change and can’t emphasise enough how important it is to keep standards at a highly professional level and to give the industry the recognition it deserves.

At Elaine’s Advanced Aesthetics College, Elaine endeavours to provide the best courses to enable all individual students to work in the Industry at the highest levels and encourage job opportunities and encourage existing clinics to upskill and train their staff.

Elaine understands only too well how difficult it can be when you are working full time for a clinic or running your own business, to find the time and cash flow to further train and improve your opportunities.

This is why Elaine’s Advanced Aesthetic College has made courses available with flexible learning timetables, onsite training and payment options.

Tailored courses can be discussed to suit individual students or clinics needs.

All courses at Advanced Aesthetics College International are eligible for TESG funding and you can avail of more information on grants from your local social welfare office.

Alternatively, Elaine is available to give you any advice regarding funding and/or help with filling out forms.

Elaine has many contacts and unique business relationships within the industry and attends Trade shows in Ireland and abroad yearly developing further contacts and learning of new treatments and products which enables her to access what new courses maybe required.

This leverage can help create job opportunities and connections for students.
